Jackson Hole to Cody
We spent one night in Jackson and then headed back up through the Tetons into Yellowstone, over the high passes, and out the east entrance to Cody, Wyoming. This is normally about a 2 1/2 hour drive, but we had fog, light rain, and snow most of the way through Grand Teton and Yellowstone, and it took a couple of extra hours. Quite an adventure driving through snow showers as high as the 8,524 foot Sylvan Pass just a day after it was fully opened following mid-May avalanches.

The carved Bison head is part of the cherrywood bar in the Irma Hotel restaurant. The bar was a gift to Buffalo bill from Queen victoria in 1900. It was made in France and delivered by steamer to New York, by rail car to Red Lodge, Montana then 2 weeks over mountains and rivers on a horse drawn wagon to Cody.
